I've only adjusted once but I have the screw type adj. for choke /F/idle on my 455 . When cold it'll start up and slowly (few Seconds) even out to 1400 RPM and all I have to do is touch the accelerator and it steps down to next speed which is 750 Rpm. It doesn't load up but is a bit touchy for awhile . Do I need 1 more notch on E/choke or adj. the screw on p/off ? I like the fact that it doesn't get real rich at cold idle but I'm sure it's still a bit lean . If it sets a couple days It takes a little turning over to start but if I run it every day it starts w/a pump and hit the key . Thanks

The choke pull-off controls the A/F on cold start ups, and needs to be fine tuned so it's not too rich or too lean. This is easy on the later carburetors with the adjustment screw on the P/O. It may take several cold starts, but you will find the ideal setting for the P/O with a little effort.....Cliff
