Title: 17080565 vs E4me 17081248
Post by: adam bahm on January 13, 2016, 08:09:18 PM
I plan on replacing the 4.1 V6, carb E4me 17081248, with a Chevy 350 Marine engine with carb 17080565.  The boat carb is as simple as the Buick carb is complex, but is this carb suitable for street work?  If not, what changes to the Buick carb would be necessary to support the extra cubes of the Chevy engine.

I don't understand exactly what you are doing?  The Marine q-jet is a completely different carburetor, most were divorced choke, and not emission calibrated.

If you are installing a 350 engine, any of the later carburetors that were not computer controlled can be made to work fine, and have plenty of cfm, even the ones delivered on the smaller engines.....Cliff
