Inadvertently started the post in the wrong forum.its in the general talk section.
The power valve is sticking in the bore when the air horn is installed,even without screws installed. It does feel loose in the bore. When pushing down , through the vent, in the center it will not move. But if out farther on the arms , it will move.
Also the primary rods are hitting the holes in the filler block,towards the fuel well\ secondaies. Also the jets on the same side. They do not align up in the center,even when down.
The arms look straight, bore and valve body was polished. Even opened up and polished the air housing where the top of the power valve is.

Have you tried a different power valve, just for the heck? It may be you have a bent power valve arm. Sometimes they can be hard to spot. You have the correct filler block as well. Did you install a new bushing as well?

Meaznt to message yesterday. But was making offer on house until 11 pm.then all morning.
An old Oldsmobile mech said the same thing. I showed him pic's. Completely missed the idea of the arms being bent out slightly.
Bought a 1705206 carb from pick n pull. Took it apart a scoopped it out closely. Measured the with of both. .043 wider!
BOY HOWDY I missed that!
Bushing? For the power valve?
I have seen them on the older taller ones. But short APT?

Yeah, they can sure be hard to spot to naked eye. I was mistaken on the bushing. Thought it had the taller version. Glad I could help. If you need help searching for one, please let me know. :D
