Title: Q-Jet 17057274
Post by: beertracker on May 10, 2010, 08:22:05 PM
Hi:

I am rebuilding this carb with kit purchased from Cliff and I have a couple of questions.

What is the float height for this carb?

Is this a 800 CFM carb?

Thanks,
BT  :)

Here is some more data for the above carb.  The engine is a Pontiac 400, 6x-4 heads milled .040", Summit 2802 cam, calculated compression ratio 8.9:1 using online compression ratio calculator, Summit headers, auto trans.  I believe Cliff sent .037 or .038 idle tubes with the rebuild kit.  Need to know what float height to use.

Set the float at exactly 1/4" at the "toe".

That is the same carb number I use on my own engine, excellent unit, large cfm model.....Cliff
