Title: Found a 7044262 with adjustable air bleeds?
Post by: Jase on April 24, 2018, 12:44:59 PM
Went to the scrap yard today and was looking through a pile of Quadrajets. It has the triangle shaped 'washer' over the vent tube..

It is a replacement carb made by Carter for Rochester...

Is this a desirable casting for a rebuild and performance use?

Those are nice units.  The Carter made ones aren't quite as good of material as the Rochester's so inspect the inlet and N/S threads very closely to make sure they aren't crumbling away and no useable.....

Thanks Cliff, I will inspect it closely and then decide.
