Title: Floods and stalls after SHORT WOT runs
Post by: Mudsport96 on June 05, 2018, 04:03:13 AM
Ok, so this is more of a what the heck, and less of a tune issue I guess.
So my 17057229 with a cliffs up kit will flood after SHORT WOT runs. And by short I mean a blast up through first gear shift at 5500 and let out in second gear around 4000. She will sputter and stall out.
Then, it's a bear to get it started again. But, if you wind it out all the way through 3rd and let out it's fine, or if you short shift at say 4500 it's fine.
Is there a possibility the .125 seat is too big and my pump is over coming the float?

What's the fuel pressure?

That I don't know for sure, I'll have to plumb a gauge in for that.

Do you have the clip on the needle hooked thru one of the holes in the float?

Might want to try removing the clip altogether and checking the float height......Cliff

Sorry should have put that info in there. No, the needle is not clipped to the float. And the float is set at .25"

I would remove the top and check the float to make sure it's not binding and has full travel, remove the clip from the needle, and make sure the seat only has one seal under it.

1/4" is fine for the float setting and the fuel pressure would have to be really high to cause an issue with a .135" seat......Cliff
