Title: 200-4r Qjets
Post by: jamesF on June 06, 2018, 04:49:45 PM
Question,
is the difference between the cable mount locations between regular late-70's Olds Qjet and 80's 307 200-4R qjet? I'm doing a trans swap, have options to do either, but found just as many keep stock carb as swap out throttle shaft for TV use. Can't find a straightforward answer. This forum post basically copies what I'm looking at.

The main difference is that the later 307 Olds Q-jets were computer controlled and do NOT use the same linkage. The hole for the pump arm is much larger so they will not work on the earlier q-jets without stripping all the parts off that end of the shaft and installing the earlier bracket.

I'm pretty sure that distance from center for the geometry is about the same or at least close enough that it works fine.  I've used many early units originally set up for TH350 kick down cables for 200-4R's and 700/4L60's and never had a problem fine tuning the shift points with the adjustable TV cables.......Cliff
