Hi all,First time posting. I have a quadrajet carb number 17083221-1053-FJX that i want to rebuild and recalibrate if necessary to run on a 1986 k-30 truck. It has a stock for 86 gm crate engine in it.I don`t know the cam spec numbers but they would be stock for 86.I will be using a non egr late style cast iron intake.I`m not interested in high performance but more in pulling power and economy. Thanks in advance.

I forgot to add in my first post that the engine is a stock 350.

I was wondering if the #1 recipe in Cliffs book would work well with this stock 350 setup.

That carb stock should be fine.

If you aren't using all of the original emission control devices it will respond well to a slight recalibration for the crate 350 engine.
I would recommend one of our SR rebuild kits, jets, and our fully tapered 50C primary metering rods and new power piston spring.
Also check the pull-off to make sure it holds vacuum and the electric choke to make sure it works. I always replace those items here during a rebuild as most are at least 30 years old and usually the first thing to give trouble once you place the carb in service.......Cliff

Always best to call, that way we can spec out a custom kit with tuning parts to save money and confusion.....tks....Cliff
