Title: Secondary rod tip bent - can it be straightened?
Post by: rhinosoft007 on November 16, 2018, 03:18:59 AM
Pulled my carb apart and looks pretty average, previous rebuild had screws mixed up, all were finger tight and no wonder it ran badly.

Anyway, the secondary metering rod on one side has a small bend in it, until I get a set shipped over to Australia, can it be straightened a bit without breaking ?

thanks
Graeme

A slight bend on those isn't a big deal and they can be easily straightened.

If you have a small drill chuck up the metering rod and spin it.  You can usually straighten them by hand, or by gently pressing them onto a flat wood surface.  Check your work in the drill until they are pretty much spinning on center, no worries.....Cliff
