Title: difference between 1259 and 2785 gasket
Post by: Shermanator on January 08, 2019, 04:28:46 PM
In my HP rebuild kit I got two air horn gaskets.  One marked 1250 and the other marked 2785.  I cannot see any difference between them and they both seem to match the gasket that came out.  What am I missing here and what should I be looking for to determine which to use?  My carb number is 17066575.  This is a service replacement that I bought from a Chevy dealer in about 1990 as the correct carb for my 1982 K20.

Just noticed that I have a typo in the subject line.  The gaskets I received are marked 1250 and 2785 as stated in the body.

Measure the thickness of both.  I'm pretty sure Cliff makes a gasket that is a tad thicker to compensate for slight warpage or mismatch between the parts.

I may be wrong but not a big deal to check that.
