Title: new Idle tubes
Post by: garyg on August 16, 2010, 06:11:52 AM
I bought a rebuild kit for a 7045274. I removed the idle tube as per instructions.
The ones in the kit are a bit shorter 1/32 to 3/64 and the inside diameter seems a bit less.
I pushed the collar back to normal position on the old one to measure.
Is this a modification ?

you are suposed to drill the tubes to a size that match the rest of your carb... so good thing you know how to remove them :-)

Are you saying that you drill the tip of the idle tube the same size as the old one ?

The kit parts are somewhat generic so yes, the idle tubes should be drilled to the size that matches the tube to the rest of the carb you are building. ie duplicating the original exactly or recipe #1, #2 or ???
