Title: accelerator pump squriter
Post by: lightning boy on October 07, 2019, 05:15:59 AM
17080204 I'm only getting a pump shot out of the driver's side of the primary accelerator pump squirter in the air horn. i've worked on this carb for a long time and rebuilt everything.  the air horn is  clear. i formed a new seat with the check ball and i ended up putting epoxy on the threads of the check ball screw, as they were leaking. I though that was the fix but now I'm wondering if the passage is drilled all the way thru in the main body.

any thoughts qjet gurus?

The actual hole is in the inner partition in the airhorn and probably blocked.  Take a tiny bit around .024-.026" on a pin vise and open it up......

Cliff, i finally found the problem, when looking for a fuel leak, i drilled and tapped the accelerator pump plug in the bottom of the main body. This is the one in front of the front plugs that is at an angle. just info for anyone trying to do this. If you go too far in, more than about 3/16 it will block the passage going up the main body to the pass side accelerator pump! Lesson learned.

Yep, I've only had a to make a few repairs there and very careful about the depth of the set screw.......
