Hi Cliff,
I hope you are safe and well.
After my original post, Re: 67 GTO and a 7028262 on October 15, 2019 life happened and I had to back burner this project, sorry.
67 GTO Auto/air. Original Calif Car with the sir pump removed in 68. Engine freshened with new rings and bearings 15 years ago and mothballed. ram air cam added then.
Update: I have re-read your book and learned a lot. In my stash I have in addition to the 7028262 VC, I have a 7028244 AKA and a 7042244 10/3571. I have the 262 completely dismantled with the exception of the idle tubes. The air horn is warped and I have been partially successful flattening it with heat and clamps. I did notice that the Buick carb had larger air bleeds and pick up tubes.
I pulled the plugs Saturday and manually turned the engine over 1 revolution after soaking the rings in "Kroil". I noticed the outside bank (1,2,7,8) of plugs were nice and tan while the middle bank (2345) were black evidencing too rich.
I need advice and a good proper kit to build a suitable carb for this car. I will need the throttle shaft bushing kit too.
Thanks,
Hal
