Recently rebuilt carb with HP kit from Cliff. It ran fantastic for 2 Months, then all of the sudden when I hit the gas it goes hard for 2 seconds qand then acts like it is not getting gas. Replaced fuel pump and checked filter, and it still cuts out. It runs great during normal driving. Could I be picking up crap from bottom of fuel tank. It is 34 yrs, old??

If it idles good and drives good, then the problem is fuel delivery related. Could be crap in the fuel system, pump not up to par, pick-up in the tank clogged up, etc.
Any way to rig it up to check fuel pressure on a hard run?......Cliff

Well I re-plumbed the fuel line from the fuel pump to the carb, and removed the filter and repalced it with an in-line filter. It ran perfect so far, let's see if that solves the problem. If it comes back I will rig a fuel tank under hood and try to isolate the problem. BTW, the rebuild kit, and doing the various mods in your book has turned this car into quite a beast for a relatively stock engine. ;D

Years ago I had a problem somewhat similar to yours that ended up being the fuel pickup sock in the tank getting clogged with debris. The car was only 3 years old. It would almost kill the engine on uphill grades or WOT, but after sitting with engine off about 15 minutes run normally for a while. Removing the sock and installing an in-line filter cured it.

Is it a Rochester Quadrajet? any issues with the choke on the secondary?
-
Let me clarify, no choke on the secondary, but the air flap.

Your secondaries can be
adjusted by rod size, hanger, and the choke pull
off, the spring tension on air flap, also the accelerator pump shot, so five points
of tuning only one out tune and no stomping
on the gas peddle with good transition and secondary performance.
