Title: Quadrajet on a 4-71 blower
Post by: Chrismcnic on June 09, 2024, 06:24:03 AM
Hi there, I have a 4-71 blower to go on top of my Rover 3.5 v8 and I’m wondering if I can utilise my spare 800cfm quadrajet that was originally on my Caddy 472 motor?
Aiming for the blower to be running around 5-7lbs boost.
Thanks

I've never tried a Q-jet with a blower, but don't see any reason it wouldn't work as well as any other carburetor.

The factory used Q-jets in turbo applications (pull-thru) with good success.  I've rebuilt quite a few of those over the years, most were for the Pontiac 301 turbo engines.  The had minor differences to keep from pressurizing the power piston when they went under boost, otherwise not too much different than the Q-jets used on the N/A 301's.....
