Title: Quadrajet secondaries don't open
Post by: jamesF on July 07, 2008, 06:51:27 PM
On my quadrajet when I am operating the throttle with the engine idling,  the secondaries don't operate. Is this by design?

Thanks
James!

Thanks Comp. I appreciate it. I guess you need a change in vacuum to get those open.

Not to Plug Cliff's stuff,, but..  :) You should get his book. It is totally step by step. And you can get cheap cores to rebuild pretty easily.
It was surprising that the Vacuum wasn't there at idle at first. But it makes sense now. The car has to be under load..

Are you referring to the throttle blades or air flap? If its the top air flap, then you can adjust the tension spring. Its in Cliffs book.
