Title: DIVORCED CHOKE CONVERSION

I have a quad, model #17058213, which is a 78' model GM unit, that appears to be originally used as a marine application.  It looks like the old units from pre-75.  It has a divorced choke on it.  I need to convert to an electric choke.  I have seen kits to do this, but my thoughts are shouldn't and electric choke bolt right up and install the same?

They can be converted to electric choke, but it's really not cost effective, and involves some modification to the carburetor.

The best deal is to replace the choke coil on the intake with an electric unit.  This may involve having to make a different link up to the carb, but overall the easiest way to get it done.

Those carburetors were truck units, not Marine units, and are excellent carburetors, the only early style divorced choke models with the single main airbleeds.
