Post by: DiploV8 on January 07, 2011, 02:32:16 PM
Hello

I´m driving a Opel Diplomat-B.
This car was produced from 1969 to 1977 in Germany, by a douther from GM.
It´s an 67 Corvette engine with a other carb.
Here few numbers: 17057286
                                17057286
                               7041286
                                 17057286
I thing so, these carbs are not spare parts!

Greetings
Michael

#8 indicates a checker or marine carb supposedly. but this might be the numbers assigned to this vehicle.
I did a search and this seems to indicate that this was the number assigned to the opel with the chevy motor. hope it helps.... enjoy!

What specifically did you need help with?  We have parts, and SR/HP rebuild kits for those carburetors.  I've never seen one here in the shop, so they must be pretty rare in the US.

Q-jets were also used on the Holden V-8's in Austrailia, we've sold some parts for those in recent years.

I'm also pretty sure a similiar number Q-jet was used on the Ford 429 engines in the early 1970's.  I may have one of those in the shop, I'll check the number to see what it is?....Cliff

Hello,
i will understand what  #8, it is ?
It´s for the guy´s in germany .
The normal 327 ci engine had a outher carb.
Was the Rochester Quadrajet made for Opel ???
I don´t know.....?
I will remember, the #8 is for Holden, Marine carbs, checer, original GM spare part and Opel.
That´s right ?

Michael-
Yes most times the #8 meant it was an unusual application. A foreign motor for a NON US car like yours would be a case like that.
In any case Cliff can sell parts or kits for all those carbs.
