Title: Job got eliminated, bummed out.

Well, the job I had driving the portland truck was outsourced to the large portland supplier. I guess the newly formed company went with a different approach that did not involve owning their own pneumatic tanker.  The new company was formed by a guy from AZ who merged our Co. with another smalle co.
I thought everything was going well until a large bid was lost on a road job. Heck I was even getting pais ins. (for once in my life). Got a call after christmas to come into the new office and was told of the job elimination. (I was on unemployment anyway due to slow work in the winter), now I am looking for a new job but need to stay close to home brcause I am tring to take care of mom, (her memory is going and other health problems). Mani wisj I could get away from this trucking deal. I have had enough. Figurativley and litterally (2.5 million miles).   OH well, sorry bout the rant, venting I guess. :-\

I hate to hear these things no matter where you posted it at!

Good luck with finding another job. 

Things are really bad in this area, LOTS of folks out of work and companies cutting back, laying off and some going completely out of business.

Guess Obama's little stay in the Whitehouse has accomplished next to nothing for the working American?......Cliff

Maybe there is something you can start up yourself? Something Car related? Put up some flyers or signs?

sorry to hear that. I have two freinds that parked there trucks a month ago. and mine hasnt moved in months.

Stop whining and take any job for now until a trucking job comes up. Flip burgers, clean portasans, anything. You are not the only one without a job......so am I. But lucky for me McD took me on.....NOT TO PROUD TO DO ANYTHING FOR NOW!!!!!!!!!

yeah, I hear ya. I am doing better, I am doing work on some cars for people right now and also doing part time work delivery driving. Didnt mean to sound like whining just that changes came all of a sudden.
Right now I am installing a mustang II frintend in a 1967 mustang for a bud. Waiting for the swap meet/car show season, got some ideas.....
