Title: Did I Ruin My Baseplate?
Post by: ubushaus on February 22, 2011, 05:12:48 PM
I tried to be careful! But my eyesite is getting worse with old age. So, while grinding down the stakes on the primary throttle flap mounting screws, I dug into the baseplate a bit. Have I ruined it, or am I being too paranoid? (see attached)

Thanks in advance,
Joe M.

I like those answers guys - thanks!

Cliff, soon I'll be requesting a quote to do the baseplate rebuild along with adding an APT screw ('68 Buick baseplate).

The reason I removed the throttle shaft myself is in order to set it up to put a modified throttle linkage end on it to provide for a 200-4R TV cable before sending the baseplate in for service.

See you on V8Buick!

Best Wishes,
Joe M.
