Title: Secondary air bleed tubes
Post by: Paul on March 10, 2011, 04:21:28 PM
Should the secondary air bleed tubes be installed flush with the top of the airhorn? or a little above? I remember someone telling me they should stick above the top of the airhorn some 3/32  for high performance carbs, but I cant seem to find the subject in cliffs book.

I measured mine installed at 1.125" before I removed them.  They were sticking up out of the top of the air horn a bit.

The Roe book recomended driving them deeper into the airhorn to get them higher in the fuel supply passage as the tips are close to the connecting passages in the bottom of the carburetor where the fuel makes has to go around a corner.

Another modification that makes no difference whatsoever when we tested it on the dyno.  Still not a bad idea to get them up out of the turn in the casting just above the bottom plugs.....Cliff
