Title: PRIMARY BOOSTER RING REMOVAL
Post by: qjetsrule on June 01, 2011, 06:03:26 PM
IS THERE A BIG CFM GAIN BY REMOVING THE PRIMARY BOOSTER RING? ON A FULL RACE CARB WITH METERING RODS REMOVED AND RUNNING OFF STRAIGHT PRIMARY JET, WOULD YOU HAVE TO JET UP FOR THIS MOD? THANKS

Close to 50 cfm.  Doesn't mean it will help, I've tested single booster rings carbs on my engine and they ran about the same as my 1977 Pontiac carb.  My engine makes over 500hp, and 600ft lbs torque.  At lesser power levels pretty much a waste of time, IMHO.....Clff
