Title: Question for cliff on idle bypass air
Post by: renegade14 on July 01, 2011, 06:36:55 PM
My carb number is 7043230.    On the air horn of my carb I have the notch for the idle bypass on one side of the carb but not the other.  I was just curious as to why it would only have one notch and not two.  Maybe it gets the air too the main body another way.

Thanks first post on this forum.

I haven't seen one notched only on one side.  There has to be a supply air passage for the void.  They made gaskets with "cut-outs" in them for those models, which supply bypass air even if the notches in the airhorn weren't used.  The problem with that deal is that they often "whistle" a bit at idle speed with the air cleaner lid off.....Cliff
