I hate eating crow, but im being told the secondary flaps or blades open by air pressure and that the secondary rod that attached to the choke pull-off has nothing to do with the opening effect. Ive read your book 3 times and even you set my car up at the track when mine was coming in to quick.I set my secondary flaps up to 1.3 as book states but i keep getting guys telling me im wrong in PY yrs.
SO DO I EAT CROW WITH OR WITHOUT THE FEATHERS??? LOL

Leave the pull-off in place and operational. It keeps the flaps from whipping open too quickly and creating a momentary lean condition.
Time the pull-off release time for what you are doing. For drag racing with good power to weight ratio, about 1-2 seconds is usually a good place to be. The faster the vehicle, the quicker the opening rate should be.
Th pull-off on my carb is close to 1 second, with 1/2 turn on the spring tension.....Cliff
