Cliff,
I got ahead of myself doing the 17059253 Q-jet for the old 455 and did not count the turns on the APT before I removed it!!! Could you tell me where to set it for a good starting point????

Thanks for your help!!!!
Ken

I'm thinking The Book suggested 2 turns from seated as a starting point.

I did the same thing, I just got the book shipped to me today but had removed the APT adjustment screw already without noting the setting.  I have only had enough time to quickly scan the book so far.  Do you recall what page or chapter it is that mentions this?  I need to get the carb back together quickly and get the truck back in service.
I had a guy tell me three turns out on the adjustment, but I'm still trying to do some better research.

Thanks

B.K.

We recomend apprx 3.5 turns up from seated as a base setting.  Use the "tip-in" procedure from the book for fine tuning.

The only time the exact factory setting applies, is when the carburetor is going back on the original application with all of the emission control devices in place and operational, and the engine is stone stock.....Cliff
