I have a 17085213 q-jet carb and it starts terrible when cold. I tested the unloader with a vacuum pump but it doesnt hold vacuum and it doesnt work when truck starts. Does anybody know if this particular carburetors unloader has a bleed valve on it. I dont see one.

If there's vacuum at the hose, and the choke pulloff doesn't retract...it's toast.
The unloader opens the choke when the throttle is opened fully--different system, not vacuum-related.

Thankyou. Can i just get one at any auto parts store or does each carb get a certain kind or size.

Is the carburetor using a primary pull-off only? Primary and secondary, or just a secondary pull-off?
Many part numbers have been discontinued. We stock most of them, even pull-offs that are NLA.....Cliff

Primary pull off only. Theres other things wrong with the carb too. The airhorn is warped, fuel comes out the port on top that leads to the emisions canister, and one of the primary rods is bent(just not bad enough to restrict its up and down movement),and the power pistons arms are loose. I could probably use your book cliff to fully understand the carb and how to set it up properly.
