specs on carb. idle tube .034  idle down channel .056   upper air bleed .068 lower .062 idle bypass air .075 mixture screw holes .060 jets size75 metering rods 58s MAB in air horn .052 acc pump dis. .026 main well bled tubes .025 feed holes to main well .039 sec.rods EF. My friend wants to put this on a 1978  stock 460 in a 30foot van motor home . he coundn't afford to drive it with the stock holley about 3 mpg.the rig weighs about 10,000lbs.any suggestions would be great.from what i can tell this carb is a virgin.it had all plugs still in place.thanks dean

3MPG's?.....YIKES!  Something wrong there someplace.

The q-jet will work fine, make sure to remove the plug over the APT so it can be fine tuned without pulling the airhorn, and upgrade it with modern components from one of our kits.....Cliff

thanks cliff. this carb also has the hole in the back of the base plate and the hole in the fuel bowl.it had a gasket that blocked the hole. will your kit come with this gasket or do i need to tap and plug the hole.thanks in advance for the quality parts and the quick service. dean

I block off that system when building them here using one set screw in the baseplate, and two more in the main casting leading down to the baseplate.  I built one last week, and the weather was good enough to install it on my 455 in the Ventura and do some street testing.  I came back with a BIG smile on my face!  It's been WAY too long since I had the car out......Cliff
