Title: APT ?
Post by: Malibu72 on February 27, 2012, 06:25:03 AM
Hi,
I was adjusting my APT over the weekend to tune out a very very slight off-idle flat spot. After successfully completing that, I noticed that my carb seemed  to idle smoother than before. Could anyone explain why this is? Carb is a 17082227 with .036 idle tubes, .052 DCR, .076 main jet, 52 rods, idle screws about 7 turns out. 454 30 over 226/236 @.050 Crane cam. 10 to 1. Thanks.

The idle tubes may have been seeing the area between the jets and metering rods as a slight restriction.  If you raised the metering rods it may have made more fuel available to the idle tubes......Cliff
