Title: Quadrajet for marine engine
Post by: Bob1966 on April 15, 2012, 07:44:30 PM
I have a stock 351 ford in a Mastercraft ski boat. I am having problems with the stock carb. Would a quadrajet be a good carb for a marine application. If so what # would be a good canidate? what special modifications would be needed for a marine carb?
Any advice would be greatly appricated.
Thanks
Bob

I've built quite a few Marine specific carburetors for custom applications.  If they weren't stock with a Marine q-jet, the later side inlet hot-air style carburetors work the best (Chevy style).  They are compact, linkage to hook up the controls, and easily convert to electric choke.

Many also have a port in the rear for the fuel pump overflow, or it can be easily added to them.....Cliff
