Title: slightly sticking secondary butterflies
Post by: blarson on April 24, 2012, 02:37:57 PM
My secondary butterflies on my 77 K20 pickup Qjet are sticking slightly right off fully closed.  Bumping them with my finger seems to close them just fine.  A little wear (bright spot) from the secondary plate can be seen right where the butterfly is contacting the air horn and binding.  The truck runs but I'm trying to maximize economy.  Do I need a new air horn or is there a way to correct this one?  Thanks for the help!

I had one do that once and found that the shaft was to loose.even after i took them loose and re-adjusted them. i just installed a couple of brash bushing and took care of the problem. i dont know if you have the tools or want to take the time to do this. a differnt air horn may be easier for you.dean
