Title: fuel pressure
Post by: brock20 on April 02, 2009, 12:36:16 PM
i run a quadrajet a dirt circle track limited modified.  i was wondering if a 80 to 110 gph is too much for the qjet.
while racing the pressure gage in the car is anywhere from 6 to 8.

any advice is welcomed

Gallons per hour is a complete non-issue provided you have enough.  80 to 110 gallons per hour is probably about two to three times the amount of fuel the engine could burn; unless you're dealing with restrictive plumbing, you've got PLENTY of fuel delivery.

What the carb cares about is fuel pressure; and I suspect that 8 psi is higher than a Q-jet would really prefer.  OTOH, if the fuel pressure isn't causing you problems--nothing succeeds like success.
