Title: 4MC carb to 4MV manifold
Post by: clutch442 on May 02, 2012, 05:41:28 AM
On my 1978 350 Chevy van, I installed a Quadrajet M4MC carb on the engine, not realizing the manifold is a 4MV with the old choke installed on the manifold.
So I have no heat stove to hook the choke to and the choke plate never opens all the way.
Anybody know how to resolve this problem.
Thanks; Clutch

The easiest solution is to buy the electric choke conversion kit and get rid of the hot air choke.   Its available from Cliff's performance, or you may even be able to find it locally at a parts store.

Yeah I was thinking that Bruce, but I think I'll go for the manual choke kit instead.
It's only ten bucks at Auto Zone, as long as there's no way to hook up the present choke to a heat source.
