My email inbox has grown to more than 50 emails in it daily, and we are getting dozens of calls to the shop every day.

Most of the calls and emails are for technical advise from folks who just "rebuilt" their carburetor and are having "issues" with it.

I do NOT have time to take all of these calls, and one of the first questions you are going to be asked is where did you source out the parts for your rebuild?

IF you did not get your parts from us, then more than likely you have installed rubber or neoprene parts, or not replaced many of the items during your rebuild that will guarentee a good end result.

Sure, among our goals are to sell parts, otherwise we would not be able to stay in business, that goes without saying.

Even so, it is also our goal to make sure that you, the customer, have a good end result with your Quadrajet carburetor.

The FIRST step in that process is to arm yourself with up to date, accurate and usable information, which is found in our book.

The second step is to follow the directions exactly if you are building your carburetor for a specific application.

The third step is to get Viton components, and all of the parts required for a complete/correct rebuild and upgrading of your carburetor.

IF you have not followed the first three steps, it is difficult if not near impossible for us to help you.

IF you have done everything "by the book" and are having problems, have a carburetor number and all the sizes of every item listed in our "recipes" when you contact us for help.  We will also need ALL of the engine specifications as well, CID, cam specs, compression ratio, etc.

This will save us many hours here and we can be more productive at solving your problems/issues with your carburetor.....thanks....Cliff

Well Cliff your the MAN when it comes to carbs.
People are being told of your talent, I told
ten of my friends with carberated cars. When
some one comes along that has a complete knowledge like you,
every one that learns about will call write e-mail pay you for advice.
For me you saved me many hours of research and money spent on unneeded parts,
and with your advise I have very fast well running carb. thats
priceless, you have written the book. But the complete knowledge you have is not in the book,
and some times things in the book have to be explained for some one to grasp the concept.
Most people are not ASE techs that order you kit and book so even though they
do there best, they need assistance to do the job correctly, if they misconceive
one of your steps then what can they do but contact you. Of course many other
backyard mechanics that have never bought anything from you will want help, advise and assistance, I would direct those people to this forum, and they can get a group answer.
I would like to thank you for your incredible patients with people that want help,
I would not be so helpful to people in less they paid me, & Im one of those backyard mechanic type.
Thanks Cliff

I just want to thank you Cliff :D
being a canadian customer, I called you and together we decided what to do with my carb and I ordered the parts needed from you.
I did call once to ask a question and you were the most professional and accomodating with answers.
my carb functions great now, with new custom primary rods and jets

I don't see any problem with Cliff saying:

"Please call us if you have questions about our parts and services."

"However, if you have general questions about other kits or carbs we didn't rebuild, please post those questions on our forum, and we will do our best to respond."

I can tell you from experience there are plenty of guys out there (not just in the automotive aftermarket) who went out of business by offering free advice and tech support to people who never bought, or intended to buy their parts or services.

Offhand, I can think of one small camshaft company, and a couple small PC/software re-sellers that bit the bullet by not understanding how much support costs.
