Title: 72 Trans Am Carb ID

Would like to verify that the ID numbers, plant code and date code for my carb are correct for my 72 Trans Am with the original 455 HO that was assembled 11/71. 7042270 XG 2081

 Plant code won't do you any good without a build sheet. That is correct for your car in the sense that it's for a 1972 Trans Am 455 HO. As for the date code, what's the date of the body?

Very early date but within range, from what I've seen here.  I don't discuss Plant Codes simply as it makes it much easier for the "re-stampers".......Cliff
