Cliff,

I bought an awesome restored carburetor from you a year or two ago, the carb was built for a 60918 cam in my 400 firebird convertible.

I am having the motor rebuilt soon and would like to try and duplicate the results you posted in a thread:

406cid, 10.6 to 1 compression, aluminum heads, 60916 cam, 450hp/470tq.

I am planning on buying the Edelbrock aluminum heads:

And a repro RAIV intake:

I'd like my engine builder to use your build as a recipe, can you send me the build specs and dyno sheet please?

What changes will I need to have done on my carburetor? Depending on your advice, I will either send it to you for the changes once the motor is pulled or leave it as is if nothing is needed.

67 firebird convertible, auto, air conditioning, 3.42 gears and 2200 stall converter.

thanks
James

If the new engine combo has similar vacuum at idle it may not need any changes at all.  The big deal with these things is vacuum signal at idle speed.  For most other scenarios the A/F requirements will be about the same.

Some very well thought out engines actually want less fuel to make best power as they are more efficient and improved VE and better BSFC so basically can do more with less........Cliff
