I have a nice rare high performance 1968 Buick GS 400 Quadrajet carburetor part # 7028242 for automatic application, dated 0188 or built Jan 18 of 1968. Used item needing rebuild, surface rust, missing little cover on top front and back cover, all linkage works, sold as is. $599 + $50 USPS flat rate shipping. Located in Elie MB Canada. i might want more images of unit. cant quite tell if number area 7028242 D is proper none re-stamp. thats the money shot here.

One question on this carb ,
The car is a "mid year

7028242 is for the "Early" 1968 Buick 400 A/T.
7028246 is for the "Late" 1968 Buick 400 A/T.
Only difference is usage of float, 7034454 for the early and 7033752 for the late.

Now this car being MFG date late July in its numbers where it was made.
How can I know which one would be proper?
I think the 7028242 is Still as viable correct due to typical parts usage MFG are known for overlaps of dates.
I have not seen other data to confirm the 7028246 at all actually, on the 400 or 430 engine.
Any source you might know or point to, to speak to this.
