hard starting hot q jet

Hello, sometimes, not always, my car starts hard hot. The best way to describe it is if I go somewhere and get to operating temp and shut the car off and start within a minute or so, it starts within the first few revolutions of the starter. But if I leave it sit, I have to floor the gas while cranking to start. Any ideas? Thanks.

Im going to guess and say its the crossover passage under the carb heating up the fuel and it evaporates so the fuel pump has to replenish the fuel in the bowl before it fires.
I could be way off though.

Leaky bottom plugs will cause that problem, putting fuel into the engine after a hot shut-down, causing a brief flooding condition....Cliff

Ok, thanks Heath and Cliff. Are these plugs somewhat simple to change out? Thanks, Jeff

Pressure test them with high pressure air and soap/water mix. Leaking front plugs are carefully drilled out and the holes tapped for 10-32 threads. We install plugs coated with Marine Tex, it is a permanent repair......Cliff
