Performance Models
« on: July 27, 2013, 02:52:09 PM »
HI, I would like to know what the  models of Quadrajets that are best suited to performance modification.
Preferably with the model number.
I'm not looking for rare Super duty Pontiac's.
All replies appreciated.

I prefer the M4M series QuadraJets. Less likely to have casting issues.

Any of the performance modifications done to an early model quadrajet can be added during the rebuild process. Get Cliff's book and it will demonstrate.

 I also like the M4M's. Mid-to-late '70s Qjets is what I'd use.

Our book has a chapter on carb selection that pretty much covers your question.  Remarkably, some of the most common late model q-jets are large cfm, with excellent features for high performance work....Cliff
