Loose mixture screw
« on: November 11, 2013, 05:25:10 PM »
One of my idle mixture screws is loose in the threads on my quadrajet (will wiggle around a lot) and was concerned it may be causing a vacuum leak. Was thinking of using some teflon tape to get it to fit tighter, or is there some other way to fix it? Any thoughts?

Probably wouldn't hurt anything to tighten it up a tad with some Teflon tape.  One of the few places associated with a fuel system that you can use that stuff.....Cliff

i've found that the tape will shred when doing any type of adjusting....I'd suggest PST as it will seal up better, not shred, and provide plenty of time for adjustment.
