Idle Tube Debacle 17068273

I bought the complete kit from you guys, as well as the book. Everything was going smoothly until I tried to remove the Idle Tubes. The short story is I ended up drilling the collars out with a bit slightly smaller than the hole. I scored the walls though. Can you tell from the pics I've attached if the walls are too badly scored to be used and should stop, and buy the threaded collars from you?

did you test fit the new tubes into the holes? they are a press fit, if the new tubes are a tight fit all is good. If the tubes fall in the hole because it is too big, you may have to stake the metal around the hole with a punch or carefully use red locktite,  or maybe both. Just make sure if you use a sealer, it's not affected by gasoline. Cliff may have a better solution if the hole is oversize. Good luck.

If the tubes fit too loose the casting can be tapped for screw in idle tubes.  We make those here and use them if/when needed....Cliff
