Rebuild of rusted Q-jet

Hello Cliff,
this is my first post, and I would like to say hello to you and all other guys participating in this great forum.
I have just purchased your book and hopefully there will be a lot of answers on my questions. In between time, here is the one I am not sure it is in the book.
I am looking for a Q-jet for my stock '75 Eldo and from one seller got this photo.
Would it be possible to rebuild this Q-jet (the # should be 7045193, is it a valid number?)?
I know that you can not say it for sure, I suppose it depends also how rusted it is inside.
But does it make sense to spend any time and money on that at all?
In addition I am from Austria (Europe) and until I get the things from US they cost more than doubled US price.
If you think it could be done, how much aprox. would it cost if I would ask you to do it? (you can send it on pm).

The shafts are likely seized in the baseplate.  We rebuild carbs that bad or worse daily here.  With some effort you can get the shafts freed up, but I would look for a better core.  There is no need to have to work that hard on your first q-jet build.  I'd be interested to know what the inside of the main casting looks like?....Cliff

But you are right, I'll not take this one.

Which one would you recomend as replacement for my stock carb (7045230)?
As I have read here in the forum the '75 Q-jet is not the best one with aneroid and  additional auxilary jets...

Those are OK, but I'd go to a 77-80 Caddy unit as a replacment as they use the later style APT system....Cliff
