Electronic Q-jet Conversion

I read the earlier thread on converting electronic Q-jets to non-electronic operation, but I have a couple of questions.  I'd prefer working with a non-electronic Q-jet to start with, but I already have three electronic cores, and most of the yards near me have mostly 90-up cars and trucks, so not many carbs and what they have are electronic.

The earlier thread, and I think the book, mention converting by using smaller primary jets and no primary rods.  How accurately can primary fuel be metered this way?  I'm not sure I understand how the fuel is metered without varying the fuel with moving rods.  Is this practical for the street?

Is it possible/practical to convert an electronic Q-jet so that it does use primary rods?  What would be involved?

They can be set up to run straight off the main jets. 

I've been running my 1977 Pontiac carb straight off the main jets for over 10 years.  It run flawlessly in all areas. 

We have the airbleeds and main jets to set them up, contact the shop for details...thanks...Cliff
