Shift points th700

How can the full throttle shift points on a th700r4 be set to be similar revs on all gear changes? At the moment full throttle 1st to 2nd changes 5000rpm to 2650 in second and in a blink then At 3700rpm in second changes to 2300 in third. I have changed weights and springs. I have lowered and raised the shift points but the wot shift rpm point from 2to 3 is always lower by than the 1st to 2nd shift about a third.

Difficult undertaking without getting into the VB.  There are so many "flavors" of those units each one is pretty much a "custom" tune all by itself. 

As you found out the governor is only part of the equation.  I will say that most that I've worked with have been considerably closer than what you are seeing.

I'm interested as to what year the transmissions is, what is it out of, and what has been done to it?......Cliff

It is a 1983. 3MK183D. I was told it was out of a 1983 trans am and was “beefed up”. It has a 30 spline input shaft. The guy I bought it of is not around.

Another fly in the ointment.  Going behind someone else makes things even more difficult as you will not know exactly what they did in the VB.

"Builders" will have specifics they do to units and may not have made good notes.  This includes boost valve sizing, PR springs, separator plate hole sizing, disabling accumulators, etc, etc......Cliff
