Street Dominator question for Cliff
« on: October 27, 2010, 08:58:50 PM »
I recently received my rebuilt Qjet from your shop and after removing the Torker II intake from my 400, I noticed I will have to do some some port matching on the Street Dominator I bought to utilize the Qjet. The previous owner told me the #16 heads had been ported so this didn't come as a surprise. My question is this:
I've noticed that the runners in the Torker are taller and rise up into the plenum quite close to the carb flange. The SD has a lot of material between the flange and the top of the runner. Would it be ideal to contour the runner up into the plenum surface to achieve a more gradual entry since I have to port match it anyway?
I know you're familiar with the SD and am hoping you can advise. Thanks, Nate

I've used and tested those manifolds, but haven't done much porting with the single plane intakes.  I would pose that question to Dave at SD Performance:
