Idle Tube Collars
« on: April 15, 2011, 05:25:21 AM »
Great info in the book about removing idle tubes,,but I have bent two perfectly good tubes trying to
press the dang collars back on.  Any quick tips on how to do this without bending them?  I only have 2 left
before I have to get some new ones... thanks...Dan

Gently clamp most of the tube in a soft jawed vise.  Use some loctite as lubricant, and gently tap the collars back in place.  I always flip them over so the portion that was engaged by the screw to remove them is down.

We sell new ones, and our HP kits come with a new pair.....Cliff
