I just wanted to say thanks to Cliff for the great book and the great advice on this forum! I just got my '76 Corvette back on the road after rebuilding the motor and an Edelbrock 1903 Q-Jet that I built with Cliff's book and kit. It runs perfect with no issues and what little tuning needed has been very easy. Set the idle screws at 3 turns out initially and that seems to be about right. I do plan to do some vacuum gauge tuning, but it ran great without it tonight when I took it out on the road for the first time. Initial timing is somewhere around 12 to 14, might be able to go a little bit further - no pinging noticeable. Pretty excited and now I feel like I can say I've successfully put together my first Q-jet. Thanks for the great help!
