Power mods
« on: November 03, 2012, 10:45:54 AM »
I've got a E4ME Qjet on a 305 in an El Camino. I have removed the choke plate and linkage, modified the secondary air valves to open completely, modified the secondary throttle plates to open completely, and removed the secondary choke pull-off linkage. It runs alot better thsan it used to, but as I am always looking for ways to get more power I am wondering if there is a way to gain power by changing the secondary metering rods. I am not opposed to any suggestions.

If the rods you have are excessively lean or rich, you can definitely gain power by adjusting them.

The current rods are DD rods, which upon receiving My Qjet book I have found are the leanest available. I also had a T hanger. So I ordered a set of DR rods and a B hanger to start.
