Qjet Partial Part Number ?
« on: July 16, 2013, 07:40:32 AM »
When looking at Qjets I have come across one that has a factory part number stamped in it that is partial.  It is missing the first three numbers but then is stamped with the correct numbers afterwards and then a HH then date code.  Is this a service carb or what is it?

What are the numbers stamped into it? Some carburetors came that way. Not exactly sure why, but some did.

It is missing the first 70 but the rest are there.  Then there is a HH 99.

Yeah, I have seen a few like that. Still don't know why they did it that way. :o

Like the Qjet 7029250. Pretty common to find them without the "70".

Well I got the carb and the fact that it has a partial part number won't make any difference.  The carb had some mistreatment during its life and the seller did an excellent job hiding those tiny little flaws.  Meh, no biggie as I was able to save/use the base plate which is what I was after anyway.

Now I just need to learn how to clean these things to get the goop out of them and then learn how to rebuild them.  lol  I should have just bought the NOS I was offered or bought the 68MT OHC Carb from eBay that was already done.  I could've just bolted it u and ran it.
