17058204 off idle stumble and sec bog

Carb # is 17058204.  I am using it on my '85 Chevrolet C10 with a 350 SBC. 9.25:1 CR, Dart 165 s/s heads with 1.94/1.50 valves and 67cc chambers.  Mild hydraulic roller with duration 208/210 at .050  260/268 advertised.  .498/.467 lift and 112 LSA.   Weiand 8125 dual plane spreadbore intake.  1 1/2 headers, 2 1/4 duals. TH350 with 2.73 axle ratio.  HEI ignition 13º initial 36º total all in at 2800.   Vacuum advance limited to 13º hooked at full vaccum source.

This carb idles pretty good but has a stumble/dead spot just barely off idle. The engine will actually miss at this position, once you open throttle further the engine cleans up and starts pulling.  Choke works good but when the engine is cold you have to really be easy on the throttle or it will fall on its face while trying to drive.

I also have a secondary bog. Will fall on its face for a second or two when you get into the secondarys then recover. The faster you apply the throttle the worse it is.

Sec air damper is set to 3/4 past spring contact and have a new vacuum brake.  Carb has been rebuilt by local rebuilder.

Thinking of getting an SR kit with upgraded componets.  What would be the correct primary rod/jet combo for my application?

 Thanks

I would install one of our kits, it's highly unlikely the local "builder" used good parts, or even the correct parts for the application.  I can supply tuning parts as well, it's going to need a little help as the stock calibration would be lean for what you are doing....Cliff
