Carb re-rebuild
« on: January 20, 2014, 05:23:28 AM »
Cliff
About 5 years ago you helped me build the ultimate off-road carb for my rig specific to my engine.  Has been performing flawlessly ever since.  This winter it has started to seep a little fuel around the top gasket so I thought I would freshen the whole carb up while I am at it.  Probably don't have 5000 miles on it, but age and setting around most of the time has gotten to it as far as gaskets.
Question:
What wear parts should I replace while I am in there?  Can I get by with the cheaper rebuild kit or do I just need a couple gaskets or do I need the complete kit?  Want it to last another 5 years without problem. Carb # is 7044226.

Any information would be appreciated.

hey not Cliff here but..........I would just put the SR kit in it, what the heck it's cheap insurance. I mean 46 bucks for 5 years worth of service, I'd say that a pretty good investment. If the old parts look good you can add then to your spare parts bin. JMHO
